What is Oinker?

Oinker is a budgeting app with attitude. You link your bank through Plaid, and a sarcastic piggy bank stamps every purchase ROASTED, RESPECT or NOTED — plus one short line. It is for entertainment and awareness, not financial advice.

How does bank linking work?

Bank connections go through Plaid. You log in inside Plaid's secure flow. Oinker never sees your bank password, cannot move money, and only gets read-only transaction data. You can disconnect any time in Settings.

Which countries are supported?

v1 targets countries where Plaid Transactions is available. Launch coverage starts with the US, Canada and the UK, with more markets as bank coverage expands. Android is coming soon.

Question 4

What do ROASTED, RESPECT and NOTED mean?

ROASTED is a discretionary purchase that looks above your own normal. RESPECT is a win — savings, a quieter week, a better choice. NOTED covers everything else, including protected categories like rent, medical bills and childcare, where the pig stays quiet or cheers.

Can I change how mean the pig is?

Yes. Pick Gentle, Medium (default) or Savage. Gentle is warm teasing, Medium is dry sarcasm about the purchase, Savage is theatrical exaggeration. None of the tones use profanity, and none roast you as a person — only the choice.

Question 6

Will Oinker roast my rent or groceries?

Accepted Answer

No. Rent and housing, groceries below your own average, medical and pharmacy spending, debt repayments, childcare, income amounts and a balance near zero are never roasted. Those get NOTED or a cheer.

What is the Sunday receipt?

Accepted Answer

Every Sunday evening Oinker prints a weekly recap: ranked discretionary categories, at least one good thing when one exists, a double-rule total, and one closing line from the pig. Past weeks stay in your archive.

Are merchant names shown in notifications?

Accepted Answer

By default, merchant names stay off your lock screen and share cards. You can turn them on in Settings. Account details and balances never appear on share cards.

Do I have to link a bank to try it?

Accepted Answer

No. You can start in demo mode with sample transactions and see how verdicts work before linking. Nothing is personal until you connect a bank.

How do subscriptions work?

Accepted Answer

Oinker is available through the App Store. Paid plans (when offered) are billed by Apple. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restoring purchases uses the same Apple ID you bought with.

How do I delete my account and data?

Accepted Answer

Open Settings in the app and choose Delete my account and data. That disconnects linked banks and removes stored transactions and roast lines from our servers. You can also email oinker@khomin.tech.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Oinker is available on iPhone and iPad today. Android is coming soon — follow getoinker.com for updates.
